If the only way you can look at the obstacle is through a lens of digital solutions, then perhaps you're not finding the best ways to approach it.
And risk making it worse.
I have definitely made this mistake many times in my career.
The above is now what I teach to UX Design students.

As a podcaster, I really enjoyed this.
And this specifically: "[…] conversations with human beings would be deemed lacking if they didn’t exhibit chatbot-like speed and responsiveness",
made me think of everyone listening at 2x speed… 😬

Also, the Discover feed I think is there for everyone by default, right?
@axbom.com: I keep hearing that Bluesky is only linear and for something to "spread" you have to repost it. But this, to me, disregards the many different feeds. Like this one feed I really appreciate and use a lot, where I see content that many of the people I follow "just like": bsky.app/profile/did:...

🙌 I truly like how it's possible to design your own experience, for your preference and mood, and it's not just about boosting for eyeballs (which has its place as well).
This can make the OnlyPosts feed very useful at times (which ignores reposts and replies):

#PersonalStuff
Following up on my health issues earlier this week, this evening I find myself in the emergency room. They want to check up on if my shortness of breath could be caused by a blood clot in the lung.
Waiting on a CT scan.
It actually feels good to be in the right place.
#PersonalStuff cont'd
Still waiting on the CT scan but it's now been decided the hospital will keep me overnight. They feel confident the scan will show something and want to be on the safe side.
This actually also feels good. By all means, keep me here 'til we all know what's going on inside me.
#PersonalStuff cont'd
The plot thickens. So the scan showed nothing. No clot. Which is good. But more tests tomorrow to understand more about what's going on.
Now I get to sleep. It's quarter to midnight here.
Thanks for the well-wishes. 😊

Still at hospital. Tomorrow I'll have an ultrasound to eliminate unwanted possibilities.
For background on my aortic mechanical heart valve prosthesis I've written some pieces on my blogs:

#PersonalStuff cont'd
Just a note to say I've been released from hospital. Thankfully no issues with the mechanical valve. The mitral valve leaflet however is elongated during physical exertion. Will be managed by boosting my dosage of beta blockers.
Importantly, I'm home and I'm doing okay. 😊

If you've added an image to your post and not added alternative text (image description) for it, this setting will remind you to do so before you can publish.
For more info on alt text, see here:
bsky.app/profile/axbo...
@axbom.com: Thank you for not hesitating to ask. It’s ‘alternative text’. A way of describing the image to people who can not see the image, or have trouble understanding it. In terms of accessibility it helps more people participate w/out barriers. Here’s a great primer on writing alt text: per.ax/alt

If you find yourself in a starter pack you'd rather not be on, you have two options: block the creator of the pack or report the pack to Bluesky.
I’d much prefer a setting wherein I give consent before being added. Along with the ability to remove myself from a starter pack.
Should be my choice?
There is of course another current option that I did not fit in:
ask kindly to be removed.
I just presume some people get added to many things they’d rather not be. Going around and asking kindly can be draining.
I find myself moving back and forth between Swedish and English here, and often I publish too fast for the editor to notice what language I’m writing in. And I forget to change the language tag.
I believe my first feature request would be for the possibility of changing language after posting.

Alt-texts: The Ultimate Guide | Axess Lab
To see how others do it, tap an image on Bluesky to read the alt text that has been provided for that image. There’s a tiny ALT watermark bottom-right on images that have alt text.
Add alt text by tapping your image after having uploaded it and before you post.

I was a bit subtle in my previous post, so I’ll just clarify: I really, really recommend turning on this feature in Bluesky’s Accessibility Settings: Require alt text before posting.
@axbom.com: I love this Bluesky setting. It’s excellent that it’s there and that everyone can turn it on. It helps us remind ourselves that this is a community – or many communities – of people who contain multitudes.

I remember how much the White House website changed last time Trump took office. I’m expecting news organisations to have set up an automated page diff alert.
His administration removed info on climate change, LGBT rights, disability rights and much more.

Good reminder I should always explain how to remove after I explain how to add.
You need to unpin the feed first in the edit screen for feeds, and then scroll down to find it under Saved feeds. This where you’ll find the trash can next to the feed you just unpinned.
