I don't coach to "increase employee productivity". I coach because true listening contributes to wellbeing. I experience value in helping people feel better and be more confident in their decision-making.
This does not necessarily translate to productivity but will contribute to individuals who understand themselves, accept themselves and feel empowered to act in accordance with their own value system.
I believe more companies should be asking themselves if they want to invest in employee productivity or human wellbeing.
I believe more employees should be asking themselves what their employers are investing in.
Needless to say, a primary focus on employee productivity can lead to huge increases in costs. I'm sure we all understand why.
The potential value of a human being freed from mental shackles is immeasurable.

We need to stop being surprised by how much data Facebook collects about us.
It doesn't matter if you have a Facebook account.
A maleficent human acting alone could not possibly come close to matching the efficiency of a maleficent AI acting alone.
That is why efficiency can never be your primary performance indicator.
Voice-driven! AI! Autonomous! Blockchain! Quantum computing! AR! IOT! Digital twins!
Sometimes I wish the headlines and excitement about the future would read:
Human! Considerate! Non-judgmental! Sustainable! Attentive! Consensual! Compassionate!
If you ever get the opportunity to teach, do it. Ironically there's no end to the amount of stuff you can learn about yourself and from the students.
Teaching is listening. Listening is teaching.
