@SimonRefn @MrAlanCooper @levibeach @monteiro I’m keeping a close eye on Impact Management Project who are now exploring the legal implications of a convention around impact management, and possible legal consequences for orgs that contribute to negative impact. impactmanagementproject.com/latest/the-leg…

@SimonRefn @MrAlanCooper @levibeach @monteiro My sense is that there are different viable paths to regulation that will contribute to an environment where designers can take more responsibility.

@SimonRefn @MrAlanCooper @levibeach @monteiro But also I believe we need to set up support organizations for designers who are looking to take more responsibility but are at a loss on how to start. I’m getting many of these types of questions now.

Been thinking again. About first-order, second-order and third-order thinking. It appears that the better we can become at accepting first-order, and even second-order, negatives for the benefit of third-order positives - the better we will be at creating positive impact.

What this means is essentially that if you are not prepared to look beyond first- and second-order positives, there is a much higher risk of making things that contribute to harm in the world.
