Sometimes I struggle to remember how we met with our friends before the cell phone and let people know we were late. Because we couldn't. And we just stood there. Waiting. Looking at the world pass by. And it was the most normal of things. And it provided a moment of reflection.

@nickf We've just started the process of moving to our "summer house" which will become our permanent residence. Will be selling our apartment by summer. The pandemic hugely contributed to this decision.

Thought-experimenting around the notion of reducing complexity to increase efficiency and how this moves control from one to the other, from individual to community to nation to corporation - and finally out of control.
I’m not there yet, but I like to share my mind worms. :)
Actually the more I look at this the more I feel like it’s a good artefact for engaging conversation. Less control does not necessarily mean impaired wellbeing, but it becomes harder to follow up and measure, and the responsibility for individual wellbeing becomes more blurred.

The difference in waiting times between men and women when calling an ambulance disappeared after it was shown that women on average had to wait 10 minutes(!) longer than men. Research matters. Awareness matters.

While far from comprehensive it's of course nice to see efforts to fight gaslighting and obfuscation online. In my mind the law is a bit too detailed but I especially like the move towards standardizing the privacy-options opt-out interaction.
