@tsvenson Interesting! In lowercase Goofle assumes pronoun, and in uppercase it appears to assume this is a person's name.
This problem has been known by Google for many years and will keep being pointed out. By now it's of course glaringly obvious how Google/Alphabet has no direct interest in addressing how their translation service cements and perpetuates prejudice.

The irony is that Google has claimed to "fix" gender translations, first in 2018 and then again in 2020. But read this article to understand how they don't even have a fundamental grasp of the problem. 🤯

And yes I'm aware Google can offer up two options when there is only one sentence. But obviously could code he/she for all sentences if they wanted, and could offer up an explanation of gender neutral pronouns.

@CarlosHaertel Haha, I get a lot less of "friends from the past" encounters after I deleted Facebook. People are generally lazy, don't look past Facebook. Or e-mailing is too much friction. It fhecks out: If you don't know me well enough to e-mail me then maybe you don't know me. 😅

@jockeholm Thanks Joakim, I'll have a think about that. Important to remember that it's not a manifesto but a tool for understanding what needs to be adressed or tends to go wrong. But I obviously have to clarify some bits, and this is exactly why I share early: for the feedback. :)
