If you are working in a project where you are hoping AI will get you better results, you should probably read this study.
"Twenty-eight African countries have blocked access to social media platforms in the past five years, 14 of these cases being election-related, says a study by Surfshark, a privacy protection company." x.com/webfoundation/âŠ

@JesperBylund @ArchieComics And in the sense that people argue that there would become different classes of people (those with and without a âpassportâ) I tend to rely on reasonings around proportionality. When it comes to saving lives, that can require proportionally more restrictive regulations.
@JesperBylund @ArchieComics All this requires risk analysis and actions to mitigate risk, certainly in the form of communication and information. And especially in cases where people actually arenât able to get a vaccine.
So, as always: it depends on context and the safety regulations in place. :)
âȘ Replying to @JesperBylund
@JesperBylund @ArchieComics I think I like how Zuboff differentiates between capitalism and surveillance capitalism. So more that itâs a different version of capitalism that has risen from the insight that data about people is valuable for trade.
But I get you, I could have written just surveillance ;)
@JesperBylund @ArchieComics Vaccine passports are interesting. I had a vaccine passport most of my childhood (yellow card when travelling in Africa) so itâs not the concept of a âpassportâ itself that I likely would object to (Iâm not finished with this reasoning but happy to spitball).
@JesperBylund @ArchieComics The dilemma is, as often when it comes to digital, is vulnerability of data and storage, and potential recklessness in handling, as well as power of access to information. Do I choose to share my information in specific situations or do others "pull it" or is it harvested.
@JesperBylund @ArchieComics But I do actually believe digital can be a huge benefit in terms of vaccination insights and potentially save many lives. Registers of vaccinations have failed to a large extent in the past, where people have very little recollection of when and what vaccines they have taken,
This @ArchieComics strip from February 1997 predicted surveillance capitalism as much as online schooling in 2021.

@TheMickNY I'm more of a single malt person, but circumstances make the experience đ
As fate would have it, I am this evening having whiskey and cola by a bonfire with three builders from Poland. And it's excellent.
Unpredictable events can be some of the most memorable. A power outage contributed to this one.
We are now into conspiracy theories. But this is where there is knowledge to be found. Listen to the voices of the ignored, they see things you do not.

@Grinblo Wow. đŹ Yeah no actually I think I really mean just that, people generally being lousy at pointing out stuff in your teeth for example. đ Think I did a whole talk with a bit of spinach once.

@Grinblo đŹ You'd hope other attendees let you know. Like having something in your teeth.

@mocapmarc Nice! Which platform has this?
Ever since I read that article about how absurd it is to look at yourself all day in meetings, I absolutely detest the window showing my own video. Now I hate how aware I am of how bad the video meeting interfaces are for wellbeing.
I had to check if it was April 1st, but no. The Telegraph plans to link journalist's pay with article popularity. Just not... yet.

@JesperBylund @BrettFrischmann @sciam From what I understand it wasn't being opposed to all technological change, but being upset about exploitatitive technology that impaired people's wellbeing and made them worse off. Violence is a bad path, but the term is today rarely used to describe people who use violence.
@JesperBylund @BrettFrischmann @sciam But again, this has made me really interested to learn more about what really went down in the 17 and 1800s. If possible...
âȘ Replying to @JesperBylund
@JesperBylund @BrettFrischmann @sciam I need to find a good source on Luddites and the history. I hadn't thought that calling someone a Luddite was accusing them of adhering to an extremist ideology. Online texts appear very diverse in how they interpret the history both of the word and the movement's members.

Nyheter i Clubhouse.
âą Digital Ethics (club in English): https://www.joinclubhouse.com/club/digital-ethics
⹠Knappen "Report for trolling" Àr omdöpt till "Report for disruptive behavior".
