@berkun I talked to a person with attention difficulties and taking pictures really helped them pay attention to, and focus on, the talk.
Also, I think about the value of instant sharing on social media and how it may help people who aren’t attending, or spark new discussions.

Speaker tip.
When you call out people saying they do not need to take photos of your slides because you will provide a link, you are often unecessarily calling out behavior that many people find comforting and helpful. And they may not want all slides. 1/3
Of course providing slides is tremendously useful for many. Do it. But do not imply that a behavior is unnecessary based on your own assumptions about the reasons for that behavior. 2/3
In fact, if you see people take photos, the helpful thing will be to stay on that slide long enough for people to do just that, without judging anyone. 3/3
(And stay with the link to the slides long enough for people to write it down.)

@heather_ia Written/spoken reviews I'm all for. It's all the ratings (often NPS) that irritate me. I should have been more clear on that in my OP :)
↪ Replying to @unknown
@heather_ia For me I struggle to see how they provide value. And add to my task list. I'm all for letting people know I've appreciated their job performance but this also makes me wonder what a "bad" review will mean in terms of repercussions for an individual who just had a bad day.
@heather_ia More on point with the types of requests I usually see: All forms of rating human beings on a scale make me feel uncomfortable.
Dear customer service,
You were doing great until you asked me to rate my experience.
Sincerely,
