It’s disconcerting how uncomfortable I can feel by just considering the idea of spending a full day outside without access to a phone. In the early 90s I lived for two years with no home phone, just a pager 😅
Yes, this meant if someone wanted to get hold of me, they paged me and then if I felt up for it I had to walk outside and find a phone booth and call them back.
