”Squeeze day?” you ask. This is when a holiday falls on a Tues- or Thursday and Swedes take the day closest to the weekend off as well. Squeeze day, obviously.

Sitting here scrolling through my Twitter feed at 9.30 in the morning, and somebody writes ”Happy National Day!” and I’m like ”Oh yeah, it’s Sweden’s national day today, I forgot about that. That’s why I’m off work! I wonder how many countries this could happen in... 😂
For context, Sweden’s National Day has only been an official public holiday since 2005. And the Wikipedia page ends its entry very on point: “Most Swedes don’t celebrate the National Day of Sweden.” en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_…

Empathy will make us WANT to do the right thing, but will not tell us how or if we have succeeded. Empathy can be dangerous when it makes us believe we fully understand what another person is going through.
