The concept of aphantasia is right now blowing my mind in so many ways... it's the inability to visualize imagery in your mind.

@MehAndUgh @LILbooKlovers @ThatEricAlper Wow, I had never got the beginning right either! I had something like "because 2x2 is 4 and 4x3 is 12". Been using it for 30+ years! Thank you, this changes everything! 😂
I think everyone would do well to re-read this opinion piece by @MollyRingwald at least once a year.

Just because someone completes a task does not mean they are satisfied. Just because someone laughs does not mean they are happy. And just because they come back does not mean they are choosing what benefits them.
When we treat people like data we are collecting points. When we treat people like humans we care for their well-being. Either you play the game or you set aside time to listen.
Learn to recognize when the only winning move is not to play the game.
The atrocity of the described murder inhibits human ability to speak of it.

@garyr0binson @kimgoodwin I am in love with this quote.
One of the most self-healing activities you can engage in is:
figuring out what you want.
Not everyone is granted the time to do this. One of the best gifts you can give is the time and empowerment to figure this out. To yourself and to others.
Wishing you a healing weekend.

Why do I get the feeling these robots are distracting us from what’s really going on?

Here's the thing. In interpersomal communication we listen to feedback to understand if a person is upset, harmed, confused or misinterprets.
If an unsupervised AI is not programmed to interpret feedback it can continue to harm people indefinitely.

I have to say, my degree in communications science is becoming more and more useful in my work, writing and teaching. A latency of 20+ years isn't too bad. 😂
Putting any quote on top of an image of a famous person seems to totally short-circuit the human brain into truly believing that the person must have said exactly this. Would love to read a study on this phenomenon.
