@tsvenson Oh I don't provoke people I hope, but I do block overtly racist presidents, politicians and trolls so that their tweets stay as far away from me as possible. Unfortunately they do pop up as screendumps once in a while.

@tsvenson My Twitter has become way better since I started blocking accounts of people whose tweets had a negative impact on my well-being. Blocking is a useful tool that I believe should be promoted more.

With regards to everyone I see who are switching to real-time tweets (chronological) and the apps keep switching them back.
Twitter stance is that the algorithm timeline is preferred and better for the majority of users. I feel there are many unanswered questions (as @cwodtke notes), and would love data on how many people even know they have an option to change their timeline.

@Lazer It's not straightforward as it's a federation. But if you have one Mastodon account you can follow everyone on all instances everywhere. But searching for users is a hassle. As is choosing your own home instance. But mastodon.social is the big one.
@Lazer Of course I can never settle with default (I have issues) so I set up my own instance using masto.host
@Lazer Trying to convince myself that the friction is good and that part will get better. Once you're in and following people it seems very similar to Twitter.
