@beantin For me I was allowed to translate to English. "Blött" (wet) became soft?!
Also wonderful example of language nuances and cultural connotations.
Idag är en riktig höstdag => negative connotations.
Today is a real autumn day => positive connotations.

@dancharvey @jennytheolin @kazarnowicz @Acuity_Design @mgoldst @GROUP_OF_HUMANS @DBADeborah @daveixd @jasonmesut @caseorganic @calmtechbook Our interview with @kimgoodwin will be out as episode 221 next Friday. For me she is the thought leader in ethics for design right now.
Also agree, and there is so much I learned from @caseorganic — we talked with her in episode 122. Hmm, number magic! @uxpodcast

@kazarnowicz @jennytheolin @Acuity_Design @mgoldst @dancharvey @GROUP_OF_HUMANS @DBADeborah @daveixd @jasonmesut My thought was Digital Impact. I'm missing an education programme with a focus on understanding and expressing the cost of digital. Historically as humans our economics fail to factor in human and environmental costs. I want creators to be skilled at this going forward.
@kazarnowicz @jennytheolin @Acuity_Design @mgoldst @dancharvey @GROUP_OF_HUMANS @DBADeborah @daveixd @jasonmesut Ok now I'm already writing the curriculum for this 😂
The feeling is that we have more people to talk to but fewer people who listen.
Both of these can be true:
1) Finding someone who will listen is harder.
2) Finding someone who will listen is easier.
But you need to know what you are looking for. That's what we keep forgetting.
Just started spontaneously dancing in the kitchen. Don't think I've done that in a long while (dancing while writing this)!
The song that came on the radio was Vampire Weekend - This Life. Not sure about the lyrics but damn it made my body move 😂

Wait...
(ok, I admit, it’s taken out of context - read the thread 😜)
Also, I’ll totally use this quote in a preso. x.com/womanoflamanch…

@mulegirl @Annaleen If the non-gendered polite form of ”Excuse me sir/ma’am” would become ”Excuse me Per”, I would be okay with that. 😁

@hypervisible Ah nice, I’ve been waiting for someone to invent the concept of vacation. Finally!

@alundbergh Haha, I'mjust tired of people saying "no, you can't do it like that!" with no interest on whether the proposed action takes us closer to the goal.
Dear Rigid Upholders of Development Processes, Models and Practices,
No. We're not done yet.

Heartbreaking rhetoric. 💔
Grading humans on a scale, at scale, is the path we're heading now. It's making me 😤😭 x.com/BBCPolitics/st…
When talking about the benefits of storytelling we also must talk about the big risks of storytelling. If humans are 'hard-wired' to respond to stories then these can be used to sway emotion and control a narrative that isn't necessarily true or representative of real issues. 1/3
Storytelling is a form of nudging, meaning that we have to be transparent about the stories' intent and mindful of their impact.
And we need to teach people to take time to reflect and reason on what a story is truly saying before acting on it. 2/3
As humans we tend to respond to the story of an individual's fate with much stronger emotions than to the story of the fate of thousands.
Stories are great, but their use must work hand-in-hand with a sense of responsibility and accountability. 3/3
Understanding that you work with choice architecture is only helpful if you also understand there is an already applied, rigid choice architecture that you are fighting against, and that architecture is different for each individual.
I believe in helping to expose the latter.
@Hopelab Hi! Have you considered adding an RSS feed to make it easy to subscribe to and read your blog?
Add complexity, add vulnerability. x.com/WIRED/status/1…
Wow. A brilliant article on the friction between science and engineering, and the role of design in this. Read it, see the diagram. By Stephanie Greer of @Hopelab
via @DrGMerchant who called it ’science friction’. Perfect. 👊
