The usability and usefulness of just providing a unique, paced alias for all online services - by just typing the address how I want(!) - is almost too good to be true.

I mean, once you have chosen a username you just type new e-mail addresses that are logical, unique and forward to your primary e-mail at the pace you want.
I'm actually not sure I can explain. You have to try it to understand the brilliance.

@timo3000 In some sense yes. Many orgs are fighting for this. My worry is that the potential for deception is already extremely high and affecting large populations before we reach AI. Hence the danger of cheapfake. And ever faster news cycles don't support debunking of cheapfakes.
Deepfake.
Media where a person is replaced with the likeness of a another. Uses ML/AI to manipulate/generate visual/audio content with high potential to deceive.
Cheapfake.
Altering media with inexpensive tools to create illusions of a behavior that did not happen.
Both matter.
