Some years ago I wrote "What is UX?" to formalize my own interpretation of this industry as it seemed to be drifting in all sorts of different directions. I stand by my perspective, but I'm afraid the term is now even more diluted in the real world.

I just read a comment on here that I thought was a well-reasoned reflection. And it was only afterwards I looked at who wrote it and my reaction was, ”huh... but I usually don’t like how this person expresses themselves”.

In Obama’s reading list for 2019, the very top one: The Age of Surveillance Capitalism by @shoshanazuboff, of course criticizes the mass surveillance enabled by Obama himself - quite harshly. Did he stop to consider the power he handed over to Trump?
