@beantin As I'm reading @shoshanazuboff's Surveillance Capitalism right now I'm distraught about how I've been complicit in the making of current structures. It's also a really good history of the web, for us geeks who can remember many of the events. Highly recommended.

@beantin I believe if more people understood the risks, even if they don't suffer but other at-risk people do, more people would care - but obviously not everyone. A lot of the problem with tech is that so much happens without understanding. On many sides. We need to slow down. 😬
