I'll also just add that in 2017 and 2018 Uber received 5,981 reports of sexual assault, including about 4 reports of "non-consensual sexual penetration", or rape, per week. No word on how they are proactively working to mitigate sexual violence.

@ZebraRoseSub @girlonthenet In essence, yes it is a big problem that Average Jo has this power in any phone they use, and that most senders of pics are unaware that their photos contain this data.

15 years ago I read about nuclear waste warning messages. These messages need to be understood more than 10,000 years in the future, to prevent beings from accessing repositories and dying. It's a good design studio exercise and may make you feel differently about nuclear power.

@seocharles @iamdavidobrien @romankrznaric I believe many are adopting long-term thinking simply out of the realization that it is necessary. As exemplified in the comments, long-term storage of nuclear waste and climate change already requires it.
As a member of The Long Now Foundation, I always advocate for it :)
One of our most dangerous misconceptions are metrics gauging 'success' in the short term.
In long-term thinking we can recognize short-term 'loss' as stepping stones to long-term win. We can refrain, learn, endure, appreciate - become resilient, wiser, stronger, compassionate.
