Personligen inget fan av att koppla, men vet att många gillar.
I mitt inlägg om att använda domännamn som användarnamn får man en bild av hur man hoppas att AT-protokollet som Bluesky utvecklar kommer funka i framtiden. Det är alltså ett annat underliggande protokoll än det Fediverse använder (AP).

Jag är inget fan av att “koppla”, alltså att posta samma innehåll till olika sm-konton.
Däremot är jag förstås väldigt mycket för att man ska kunna kommunicera över nätverksgränser, dock med bibehållt skydd i form av blocklistor, m.m.

I'm always fascinated when people write "Bluesky feels like..." or "Bluesky is just like…" without entertaining the idea that it can be many different things to many different people.
(Bluesky can of course be replaced with any other network in those statements)

I think what I use the most is the built-in uBlock origin log console. But I also like how they are combatting browser fingerprinting. As long as there are very few users that’s perhaps a naive prospect, but everyone who uses the Mullvad browser gives the same fingerprint. Also, it’s Swedish ;)

@jfslicer This is very true. I should have been more clear that they have posted in English before, giving me an idea of their proficiency and voice, and some I’ve attended events with that have been in English. The difference now is that these are long-form posts with rather advanced phrasing and words. I’m experiencing a clear and sudden change in tonality from at least a handful of people.
@jfslicer To underscore how valid your point is, it made me think of why I’m never satisfied with machine translations of my own writings from English to Swedish or vice versa. I write differently depending on language.
I wrote my university dissertation on translation of fictional work, so I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me 😅. I’m more intent on how the target group hears and understands my message, than staying exactly true to the original text.
But I also won’t use words that don’t feel like “me”.

@Bernard I get this and you’re right to call it out, but I would also like to make the case that western conceptions of intelligence can, and should, be challenged.
I understand that some groups of people who have not been overly exposed to western thinking include more social obligations in the idea of intelligence, such as people in rural areas of Zambia who use 'nzelu' (intelligence) to include both cleverness (chenjela) and responsibility (tumikila). And the Luo people in rural Kenya incorporate ‘luoro’ into their idea of intelligence, which includes social qualities like respect, responsibility and consideration.
For me it makes much more sense not to award the attribute of intelligence to people whose actions contribute to harm, and I believe it would be beneficial to dismiss the idea that intelligence can be coupled with bad intent.
The current western conception of intelligence certainly also contributes to tech billionaires being interviewed about climate change – because they are “intelligent” – with disregard for any sense of domain knowledge.
I’m well aware that my hope for this is a big ask. 😉
