@jmspool Not only that, in this context you’d be able to check off that step if everyone on the team verbally agrees that they empathize with ”users”. It does not encourage research. ”Empathy” as such can be very misleading because you can never be certain it’s something you have.
@jmspool That’s why I talk about ”impact assessment” - because it’s more helpful to actually find out if you are harming people, than it is for you to build up a, often illusory, feeling of understanding how other people behave and feel in different contexts.

@grishund Enligt forskning är män väsentligt sämre på att bedöma risk. Finns inget entydigt svar på varför, men är sannolikt kopplat till att vi i mindre omfattning behöver ta ansvar för konsekvenserna av vårt handlande. "Boys will be boys."
@grishund I mina föreläsningar om etik och design påpekar jag att män därför är sämre rustade att bygga lösningar som är inkluderande, eftersom det är svårare för dem att bedöma potentiella risker.
@grishund Män behöver således bättre verktyg för att förstå och bedöma den påverkan som deras handlingar har. Men allra helst skulle de behöva mer erfarenhet av motstånd.
@grishund Jag har också suttit och räknat lagvidriga bilister ibland och ser samma tendenser. När jag fick körkort var första gången jag fick ett rejält dåligt humör, när det blev tydligt för mig hur många bilister som utsätter andra för livsfara.
@grishund Sorry för monologen ;) - du pekade på något som jag tror du har helt rätt i och som nog bör diskuteras mer.
