@DorotheaBaur Categorically refuse. It skews search engine results in favor of highest-payer rather than most relevant. For me, it's a matter of personal ethics where I don't want to recommend anything based on if I'm paid for it, even if it would be marked as 'sponsored content'.

@JesperBylund @per_p To a large extent I agree. But who controls this is a bigger problem. We have a 'free speech' platform controlled by a US incorporated company. All Twitter decisions, even decisions not to act, are controlled by them. So the debate on this is needed, as I see it.

@weylandswart The way Twitter did this I think is a good test. They are not deleting, condemning or saying anything in Trump's tweet is wrong. They are providing contextual links to the topic, essentially a "read more" link.
@weylandswart I also agree about how Twitter is becoming a free spech platform and I think we need that debate too. Should free speech be incorporated in a US company where I as a participant have no vote on who has power over decision-making? Twitter's move illustrates how fragile this is.

@JesperBylund @per_p Isn't that exactly what is happening here? Trump's speech is not policed, it is there for everyone to see. Nobody deleted his tweet. Tech is adding context to a topic, and the context is provided by journalists. Twitter is enabling the visibility of the fact-checking journos.
