@JesperBylund @BrettFrischmann @sciam From what I understand it wasn't being opposed to all technological change, but being upset about exploitatitive technology that impaired people's wellbeing and made them worse off. Violence is a bad path, but the term is today rarely used to describe people who use violence.

@JesperBylund @BrettFrischmann @sciam I need to find a good source on Luddites and the history. I hadn't thought that calling someone a Luddite was accusing them of adhering to an extremist ideology. Online texts appear very diverse in how they interpret the history both of the word and the movement's members.

@sara_ann_marie Thank you Sara. This perspective resonates with me. Especially appreciate how you clarify “inherently—because they've HAD to to survive, and men largely haven’t”. This is often how I see it as well. Many so-called differences exist because they’ve been forced by circumstances.
@sara_ann_marie You’re right of course that culture critiques + sows doubt , and that there is an important difference between healthy reflection (what I was thinking on) and harmful, imposed self-doubt., that needs to be called out.

@MarkoSaric Thx. I’m answering in a Swedish forum after writing about you guys and it’s just good background info. :) Obviously it’s the US telecom provider’s potential exposure to FISA and Section 702 that has been raised. It’s as always laypeople discussing things we aren’t experts on ;)
