Speaking of efficiency, imagine how much time could be shifted from tech grifts to actual caring and love.
It’s mindblowing to me how many support bots are being implemented to save time for support staff on “simpler issues”, instead of improving the interface and interactions in ways that remove the need to ask those simpler questions.

Kind of. It was one of the dogs at the dogsitter’s where our own dog is 1-2 times a week during the day. Don’t know the owner but am expecting them to reach out next week. There has been issues with this dog in the past 6 months.
All completely by surprise as five dogs came to greet me at the door.
I was bitten by a dog on Thursday. Got a tetanus shot today just to feel safe.
The bite was across the hand, not very deep but hurt immensely.
I find it a bit amusing though how nervous many health workers are about vaccinating someone who is on blood thinners. It's not like my blood rushes out.

And the technology doesn’t lend itself to easy understanding despite promise of “essential and transformative”.

When you’re running all your websites and apps on your own server, and traffic and space costs real money, you are way more careful with optimising images and files, and refrain from uploads.
When people use “free" services, paying with their personal data and biometrics, they don’t seem to care.

Migadu is also Swiss, but with servers in France.
Main unique selling point for me is the price model. I can have as many accounts and domains as I wish. The only thing affecting the price is volume of email.
In June, to be finalised in July at the latest, I will be moving my email accounts from Google Workspace (prev. Google Apps) to Migadu.
Likely I should document all this along the way.

Flashback to the times when you tried to record two movies onto a 180-minute VHS tape but the last 10 minutes got cut off.
Sometimes you were in the room and rushed to change tape, which took almost a minute in total.

Nice, gives me lots of ideas. Makes me want to do something similar that also covers people who are not users and negatively affected. And something about designer responsibility… I have a version of my panda that I started on 5 years ago but never completed… 😬
