Whenever it is insinuated that I be more positive about tech developments I always think of The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin.
The insinuation implies to me that I should forget about the child.

Apparently all kids now need to know "AI". It was not long ago that all kids needed to know how to code.
I believe this: all kids need to know they are loved.
That is both a challenge to achieve that we can work on, and makes actual sense. And will have way more impact than a tech fantasy.
Sometimes I lazily sketch models and diagrams in bed. This is a core part of my wellbeing routine. đ

Why yes, it's called my brain and it's called talking to people.
Apparently everything is looking to be automated and people have stopped trusting their own ability to judge. It's scaring me.
Some tasks that are being handed over to automation should arguably never have been tasks in the first place.
Or should at least be revised regularly. But instead of questioning and reinventing tasks, many will now be automated to run perpetually.

And with no human involved, why would someone then question its validity?
I believe this is part of the non-intuitive aspect of AI and automation, that it will actually in many instances resist change rather than encourage it.

People will forget why that machine is running and worry that cutting its power will break something.
When, in fact, it might free something.
