Det finns få saker jag månar så mycket om som barns rättigheter. När jag började skriva om förslaget till sänkt straffbarhetsålder visste jag att många vara kritiska. Men att i princip alla remissinstanser ställer sig frågande till vad regeringen grundar sina beslut på är spektakulärt.
En faktaresistent regering driver igenom fängelse för 13-åringar
Och dubbelt uppseendeväckande är det att regeringen helt enkelt inte lyssnar på alla de experter som jobbar varje dag med de här frågorna. Att de inte lyssnar till forskningen. Att de, när remissinstanserna motsätter sig en sänkning till 14 års ålder, väljer att sänka till 13.
Att det får passera.
Vi har haft en straffbarhetsålder på 15 i 162 år. Sedan 1864.
Om mindre än ett halvår vill regeringen sänka den åldern. Åldern som människorättsorganisationer, socialarbetare och forskare i decennier förklarat borde höjas. Och den sänks i strid med barnkonventionen, som vi antog som lag 2020.
Och utöver bristen på barnkonsekvensanalys förklarar flera tunga remissinstanser också brister i tillämplighet. Alltså: det går inte att göra som regeringen tror. Säger Brå. Säger Brottsofferjouren. Säger Domstolsverket. Säger Ekobrottsmyndigheten. Säger JO. Säger Åklagarmyndigheten. Och så vidare.
Det här borde vara en större nyhet, och förtjänar mycket mer utrymme än en handfull debattartiklar. Under tiden diskuterar Kriminalvården om gosedjur ska tillåtas på fängelserna (spoiler: det ska de). I sommar händer det.
Om inte rösterna i protest blir tillräckligt höga.

Haha, det kan jag verkligen hålla med om. Men jag gillar att det påminner om att vi inte kan se alla länder på en gång, och att landmassor och ting inte ligger där "vi" tror, eller i alla fall förhåller sig till varandra på ett sätt som är svårt att föreställa sig. 🙃

Om syftet är att kommunicera en 3-dimensionell effekt för att påminna om att jorden är en glob, så kan det ibland tjäna sitt syfte tänker jag. Men jag gillar ju gamla kartor med "vind-figurer" också 😅

The reason Grok so easily can generate nudes of children is because it is trained on that type of content. It is not using "imagination".
Too few are saying this part aloud. Any face generated using image-gens can be from a situation of abuse.
Explained: Image generators need so much data that there is no one at the companies that build them who can keep track of where the data comes from and what is actually portrayed in the source data.
No one can take responsibility, which the bros embrace as a feature, not a bug.

That is why I am particularly bothered by generated images of children, as it has previously been shown that large datasets contain many images of abuse.
There are such large amounts of images that it would take thousands of years to look through them.

This should make it obvious that datasets used for all image generators contain violent images of all kinds.

So when an image (or film) is generated where children appear – in any situation, I always wonder: why does that particular child's face appear? Whose child has fallen victim to the computational model this time... resurfacing pain that refuses to go away when tech companies immortalize it.

And yes, of course this goes beyond children.
This makes me truly shudder amongst all other carnage the software causes.
