Really good tante. It does worry me a lot that most people don't see/grasp this and will, when called on it, completely reject this notion because they themselves are "of course not fascist".
It would also require them to take responsibility for their actions, when they want to deflect it with AI.
The experience I draw from is attending a boarding school where hazing was common practice. Integrated into this environment it took me years after leaving school to understand what I had been through, and had been complicit in, as a teen. I defended the practices for years, as I see many still do.
What I'm seeing is people already embedded in the abusive nature of AI and it will take years after leaving to gain a healthy perspective on it. And people aren't leaving, they are going deeper into it. I just don't see arguments working, and I hate that feeling of hopelessness.
Seeing the harm and seeing the role you play in it opens two paths: 1) forgiving yourself and dedicating yourself to opposition 2) doubling down on "I'm not evil" and staying complicit within the system
Not sure how to best help more people choose the first, but I know I want to offer that help.
