I’m titillated when one word can carry meanings that are opposite to each other.
One of those words is oversight. It can mean careful supervision, but also careless error.
To be engaged in oversight is enigmatic.
Words like this remind us of how important it is to ensure redundancy in our communication so that messages may be received without incurring bewilderment.
One contronym I haven't thought to address more is 'transparent'. And I use that word a lot. I of course use in the sense of making something obvious, and being honest about functionality and inner workings when it comes to digital services.
Many tech companies do apply transparency for the data that would hold them accountable, but in the word's reverse meaning: making invisible.

A killer feature for me that a lot of people miss with DuckDuckGo are the !bangs
Add !w to search on wikipedia.
Add !imdb to search on IMDB and so on
So if I truly need Google i just add !g to the search query.

More and more coming across "podcasts" that can only be listened to on a specific platform, not in my podcatcher (any app for listening to podcasts via RSS feeds).
If a podcast doesn't disclose its RSS feed, is it really a podcast, or just an audio show that happens to be published on a specific platform?
In my mind podcasting is about the listener experience and mode of consumption as much as the production experience. If I can't listen to it like I do 99% of all podcasts, then for all intents and purposes it is not a podcast.
I know most people don't think about RSS feeds at all when listening but I had to mention it here as it's the mode of distribution that makes everything I just mentioned possible, with regards to freedom of listening where I want. Not where someone else wants.

Speaking of podcasts, I had missed how @pluralistic has recently written about exactly this.

@Silhelm Ah interesting. I think I prefer to only start with the one question, and then I keep going into tangents - "but that is only true if this other thing also takes place..."
Your approach reminds me of my mindmapping though, where I jot down a topic structure and make sure I cover all the different perspectives.
Some of my most revealing posts have been where I have a dialogue with myself. It's funny how I can write responses to my own questions and those responses contain things I didn't think I could articulate before.

The best writing prompt that works for me is posing the first line as a question, and then I answer it. Love helping and teaching, and apparently I love helping myself too 😁

Ah, gotcha. Yes, some of my clients also expect it, and have their whole design system in there, which means I have to reinvent my offerings to avoid it. I'm too old and lazy to learn my umpteenth tool... 😅
I've personally only done pair programming sitting physically next to each other. And with devs I've spent some prior time with. To work remotely I would want to have met and shared an experience outside the screen beforehand I think.

Seen lots of ads for UXPin but never used it. I will always argue that the browser is the only way of knowing how it will behave in the end. And will save sooo much time. But it's obviously not for all designers.
Also saved a lot of time like Beantin by just sitting next to a dev and talking our way through it.
I do feel that a lot of wireframe and prototype builders are missing out by not knowing about Keynotopia or the benefits of just going hardcore presentation software.
Some prototypes I've built have been Keynote documents with clickable elements that bring the user to different pages. When I export that to PDF all the click actions are maintained, so I have a clickable prototype contained within a PDF that I can send around to clients. It's super quick.
I really should do a course on this, it's pretty nifty.

I'm very curious about your first post now. "Moving" from Figma to Balsamiq. Is it an actual move or a project where it makes more sense to use Balsamiq?

Jokes aside I have done a lot of prototyping using Webflow and sometimes plain HTML. Previously also Bootstrap. If I need something really quick I use Keynote.
