It's in some ways mind-blowing how the school I attended in Tanzania is still light-years ahead of the schools in the municipality of Solna where I live. Yes, that's a maker-space with a 3D-printer, and that's a game console a student built out of mahogany, and we found a student spending his summer break working on a guitar prototype for his personal project. And need I say that the library is not just a library but an information center. And the Global Issues Summit is a special thing in itself. Wow, just... wow.

With my Huawei portable 4G router and a 40GB data plan from @Vodacom I have internet anywhere I go in Dar es Salaam. Impressive!
I used to eat my lunch by this tree! Imagine learning they tore down your old homeroom only a few months ago when you're visiting after 26 years; yes, that's the construction going on behind the wall to the right.

Heads up! I'm in Dar es Salaam and, as if by chance, Uber (UberX) have just launched here a few days ago. Haven't had a chance to ride yet but by next week I will definitely be posting a review.
It will be interesting to see how local taxi companies respond and I've hooked up to some people from the Tanzania tech scene on Twitter to get their opinions as well.
Until then, here's a news story: http://allafrica.com/stories/201606160344.html
