@jennytheolin A UX Designer listens to and mediates between stakeholders and affected parties, often using visual aids, to establish consensus and contribute to benevolent and sustainable products and services that promote well-being.
At least I wish this was true.

@banjira My gut reaction: There are assumptions being made in that dialog window. Rather than make an assumption it can make available options without a value statement. It also indicates a usability problem: why would the user not be aware that they can mute?
If you have a Mac and a lot of online meetings on different meeting platforms, I can't recommend Meeter enough. Displays all your upcoming meetings and you get one button to join, regardless of platform.

@lubes Mostly on my mind is tracking, data collection and content targeting aimed at vulnerable people. Right now feel like I've gone beyond a point where I'm struggling to even enjoy large chunks of the internet any more. This wasn't what the Internet was for...

I'm broken.

As I've seen some newsletter platforms do this (mine currently doesn't) I'll be making my newsletter available also as an RSS feed. This means you don't need to give up your e-mail address and there is zero tracking of opens. Just give me a day to set this up.
And remember you can always set this up yourself with Kill the Newsletter. Which to me is more like Improve the Newsletter.

We need more court cases in more countries addressing over-reach in the use of privacy-endangering tech. Early rulings will help guide decision-makers before various points of no return. Thankful to Liberty for taking the lead on this one (see their thread for more info). x.com/libertyhq/stat…
Remember that the Swedish Data Protection Authority last year issued a warning and a fine to a school using facial recognition to monitor the attendance of students. The legal basis was GDPR.
