I don't know why, but I found it absolutely hilarious that Whereby's chief marketing officer sent out a loong e-mail to say... absolutely nothing. That's an unsubscribe from me.

@Philip_J_Powers Could be. The RSS standard didn't fit with their business model though as it is can be made available anonymously and hence likely more difficult to manage if you're into surveillance capitalism. Need to think about that theory some more though :)

@Emil_Mauritzson The article reasons around the failure to communicate an everyday use to laypeople, plus it was never integrated into browsers. But dead it is not as everyone depends on it for podcasts.
When everybody does newsletters instead of blogs, how does this affect findability and archiving of all this good content?
And yes, I’m in favor of rebranding RSS to get more people on board.
