@DarynaAriamnova Thanks for this insight Daryna. I hadn't considered this use. I do realise of course we need more perspectives. I am leaning towards how we introduce the words matters, there always has to be an openness to change, and that we can not always assume sensitivity. Open to be wrong.
I would love to hear from people with visual and hearing impairments on the topic of using words such as "see" and "hear". People I know with vision loss often use "see", and "watch" and "read" in a non-literal sense.
How should or shouldn't we reason when using these words?
The main reason for my curiosity this time is this perspective on empathy mapping, which suggests that "see", "hear" and "say" are insensitive words when all people don't have these abilities to the same extent:

At the same time I hear views such as this from Veronica (linked blog post). This makes me wonder how much research and co-creation with people with different disabilities takes places when arriving at suggested alternative phrasings?
