I've often resorted to using language to taunt or gibe with witty or sharp phrasing when for example customer service has been especially poor. It's made me feel better in the moment. Perhaps even, dare I say, superior...
Now I try to avoid doing that. I don't have to engage. I'm fine with another human being having a bad day at work, or other things going on. I don't know their circumstances.
NOT engaging in that way often makes me feel better in the long term.

@VictorVenema Oh interesting! When they rolled it out on mobile, it was a 2-3 week period before everyone had it. Would be crazy if they just did something similar for desktop as well.
Something I hadn't realised now that I'm logged out of Twitter is that on mobile Twitter has become a closed system. If you get a link to a tweet and scroll for just a bit, you get a message requiring you to create account/log in to see more.
They're going the FB route: unusable unless logged in.
This behavior started about 10 months ago. The previous default was that Twitter was open to read for everyone. Can't believe I had missed this. Makes leaving even more of a no-brainer.

Good to think about if you share links to tweets: Lots of people can't see them more than a brief while.
Tweets are no longer open to view for anyone on mobile. To view without restrictions people need an account and to be logged in.
I may have just chosen my next #email service based on their drawbacks list. This likely sounds counter-intuitive at first, I know, but then makes perfect sense once you read it.
And no, not because it doesn't have drawbacks. Because email-specific values and beliefs are clearly expressed and they align with my own.

@fenomenologen Fascinerande ändå vilka nivåer det tog sig till idag. Eftersom köerna varit onormalt långa, och medierna rapporterat stort om det, så har man sagt åt resenärer att vara ute i "god tid". Så människor är ute i rejält god tid och det skapar i stället ännu mer problem.
Systemfel där föreslagna lösningar förstärker problemen tycker jag alltid är så spännande att läsa om och lära sig av.

@duncan_lithgow I doubt that behavior (Facebook-exclusive postings) is sustainable for many more years. It's getting more and more common to not have an active FB account in my circles.
@duncan_lithgow Never crossed my mind I don't think. I set up a newsletter that I sometimes use to send updates to family and relatives. If someone is important to me I have them in my address book. I guess worst case I could ask someone I know who has FB to look someone up for me but that hasn't happened.
But yeah I also exported my FB data. Any details might be in there? I haven't even looked at it since the day I downloaded it. Weird how easy and rewarding closing FB was.
