You'll find the original here on my blog post. I recently updated the diagram. Do link back to the source when you share it. This helps people find updates as well.
I'd rather you link to my blog post which the graphic was taken from. Source links were cropped out of the picture but here you go:

I've also updated the graphic since the previous one was posted.
Yes, the text for that last box was worded in a confusing way. I’ve fixed it now on the original post. Still confusing for a lot of people but at least more correct 😅
Good reason to always link to the source is so updates can be easily found 😁
Boost it :) If you boost it, it becomes part of your timeline that everyone will see.
If someone doesn’t follow you, they will see the boost in the federated timeline (if they are on your instance)
It’s from my post here. The sources have been cropped out of the image.
⚠️ Twitter links
I see people linking to Twitter and saying sorry for linking to Twitter.
One way to make Twitter content available without exposing people to big tech tracking is to use a Nitter link instead.
Nitter is a free and open source alternative Twitter front-end focused on privacy and performance
One quick solution:
Replace twitter.com with nitter.net in your link.
There are also more instances of this free software if you explore further.
Best thing I've read on the experience of the recent mass growth of users on Mastodon, from the perspective of someone who has thrived in the fediverse for many years.
⚠️ self-promotion, social media turmoil
@Rel Thank you Mark. 🙏
⚠️ self-promotion, social media turmoil
25 years ago today I bought the domain axbom.com and became an #indieweb blogger.
My newsletter went out this morning with some tips on improving your online resilience amidst changes that impact human connections online.
@ptjamp Thank you Peter! 🙏
Public sector. As always I think it’s a little bit of both. They don’t see the potential of smaller research efforts, always thinking about “big usability tests” which don’t get funding. It’s of course always possible to talk to people, the way I see it.
@Beantin Yeah, I recently came across a web team that hasn’t talked to their users in years…! 😬
And the problem of course is not only about the bad practice. It’s about them not connecting with the why of what they’re doing at their job. And their confidence and wellbeing suffering because of it.
New blog post: 25 years of online resilience
Twenty-five years ago today I registered axbom.com as my domain name for sharing updates and stories. I had started blogging (or web logging) prior to then, on a Swedish platform known as Passagen, but owning my own name as a dot com was exhilirating. I first coded my pages by hand on my own domain, but I've since hosted my blog on many different platforms, such as Blogger, Drupal and Wordpress. The domain name has followed me along on all these adventures.
So while the underlying tech has chan

⚠️ Meta: about CW on Mastodon
> Or is it preventing people from being confronted with hard truths that they should see?
When posting there is no way of knowing what trauma, illness or distress the reader is going through at the moment.
But likely they chose the Fediverse because they also wanted to participate in social messaging online.
I would argue that assuming that everyone needs to see something is not compassionate or caring.
Content warnings are a blessing in my mind.
So much broken… I think what I want to work most on is just bringing more control to ordinary people.
Because all control is just completely lost.
But that mountain is looking mighty high.
The current growth of the Fediverse is the most excitement I’ve felt in a while. But I wonder how long it will last.
⚠️ Client frustration rant
@babumenos From a strict perspective I could likely argue that it isn't what they hired me for. From a sharing knowledge perspective (which is my passion) I always want try and help. But given my frustration I should likely be more clear about asking what it really is they're after.
@gustav Jag skrattade mer än jag borde åt detta.
⚠️ Client frustration rant
@rrinaldi I've learned not to blame the clients but rather the circumstances. Still frustrating. I feel you.
⚠️ Client frustration rant
@richbayliss This is likely what will happen. 😅
⚠️ self-care
@Beantin This is eerily true.
