Hehe, jag har nog egentligen varit UX:aren som 'hittat tillbaka' mer och mer. Började programmera som 8-åring 1982. 😬
Men håller verkligen med. @beantin och jag pratar ofta om att man måste känna till materialet man arbetar med om man ska kunna bygga något användbart av det.
Det har verkligen varit en styrka att kunna prata med utvecklare om viktiga saker och ibland även kunna rådge.
Känns som du har oerhört liknande profil men med lite mer hard core tech-kunskap 😁
#InformedConsent is not only about the ability to opt out, or the fact that you need to actually understand what the consent means and may lead to. Informed consent is also about there being no power imbalance in which a person complies because they feel a hierarchical, or cultural, pressure to say yes.
I see very few situations where this is true.

Jag är precis tillbaka in i den här världen igen (har väl aldrig varit riktigt i den även om jag förstår den hyfsat) så jag trevar och testar.
Jag blev väldigt hjälpt av @cloudron som primär lösning för att hantera min server (den har dock inte Akkoma i utbudet).
Tänkte nu förmodligen ha en separat VPS för Akkoma så att den inte ”krockar” med Cloudron.
Min nuvarande setup, inklusive kostnader, har jag bloggat om här (stämmer i stort fortfarande):

Hostup:s minsta VPS kostar 50kr per månad. Den ska räcka för Akkoma till exempel.
Det kan självklart fortfarande vara för mycket pengar, ville bara tipsa om den eftersom jag är väldigt nöjd med dem och deras service.
Jag har andra erfarenheter där jag flyttade många tjänster till en VPS, vilket till slut minskade mina kostnader. Men då hade jag ganska omfattande kostnader innan för flera bloggar och nyhetsbrev...

@m Thank you Mathias! I’ve never seen anyone write this out so clearly before. Feeling more and more confident that Akkoma is the best choice for single-user Fediverse instances. and perhaps a bit bigger than that as well.
Now I wouldn’t mind if someone could help me make an Akkoma docker image that works with Cloudron 😅

Running a single-user Mastodon instance is really resource intensive (for the server).
Would love to hear about any ideas anyone might have for either streamlining/optimising Mastodon or perhaps another software choice that would be better than Mastodon for a single user, and still allows moving follows/followers... 😬

Thank you everyone for all your responses. After looking at all the suggestions I believe #Akkoma is closest to what I am looking for.
It would appear bringing followers to another software instance won't work however (only works Mastodon to Mastodon) so I'll mostly be playing around with it for now.
I see now why people have several accounts on different #Fediverse software.

To clarify regarding bringing followers over to other software, I’m reading in the comments that you can bring followers over to both Akkoma and Calckey. This feature will likely become more common throughout the Fediverse.

Sometimes in work people ask me for sensitive data (personal information) required for contracts and the like.
In these cases I use a pastebin where the server has zero knowledge of data entries. It’s (en/de)crypted in the browser. I send them a link to a page which expires within a week.
What I’ve learned is that getting the info from me is always described as *urgent*. But after a week people usually email back and ask for the data again because they haven’t looked at the page yet. 😅

There is so much to learn from older technology.
Pictured is my Remington Standard 12 typewriter from circa 1925, with a Swedish keyboard.
Remington is notable as a brand of typewriter because their first two #typewriters had features that are still in use today on computer keyboards across the world.
Note the text in the brand label: ”To save time is to lengthen life.”

The first of those features that has sustained throughout the decades is the QWERTY keyboard, invented by Christopher Latham Sholes.
The second of those features was added to the Remington no. 2, released in 1880 and later used by Agatha Christie: the SHIFT key.
And yes the tale is true: the QWERTY keyboard was thus designed to solve jamming problems. If you typed too fast the hammers would get stuck on each other.

Some typewriter trivia to throw around: The first mechanical typing machine was invented by italian Pellegrino Turri for his blind friend Countess Carolina Fantoni da Fivizzano so she could write him letters. It's suggested they were love letters.
