Deleted my Voi account today.

Asked why, I responded:

"These scooters add to environmental impact, accidents, social friction and obstacles for people with disabilities."

I suppose the most surprising thing about this is that I even had an account. 😂

Scooters pointed out as being obstacles for a blind person, likely still parked in a way where most people wouldn’t think of them as being in the way. The irony being how people are generally blind to the struggles of others.

These companies are essentially paying to cause harm... and yet of course many will come out wealthier from it.

The mining industry in Kiruna (northern part of Sweden) is causing underground deformations that are putting buildings at risk. This means they’re moving large parts of the town about 3km due east. No joke. This video shows the bizarre visual of a large house being moved. x.com/Anders_Lindber…

Here’s that same house arriving close to its destination.

And another house. x.com/angrytheinch/s…

I wonder about packing for a move like this...

Check out the wheels used to steer and turn this contraption!

This is a much better explanation than mine of what’s going on here. They’re moving the town and they’re doing it long before anything is in danger.

You may be reading about how only 2 women were awarded Nobel prizes this year. Not true.

Actually, Olga Tokarczuk received the 2018 award for literature. And Duflo's economics prize is not formally a Nobel prize.

The total number of female Nobel prize winners in 2019 is zero.

Here's why the economics prize is not technically a Nobel Prize: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Mem…

Those in the know will of course remember that the 2018 Nobel Prize in literature was announced this year since it was suspended last year due to a sexual assault scandal.
