Sooner or later your e-mail and password (on one of your 100+ online accounts) is part of a data breach. Mine were recently again. But if you make sure to have unique passwords for each and every service you use, you can more easily stay calm.
axbom.blog/hacked/
My e-mail address was found in yet another data breach recently. This time on a site named ToonDo. I'm not overly concerned about this since that site does not contain critical data about me, but more importantly: I do not use the same password anywhere else. I only have to change it there.
Still, I talk to people almost daily who use the same password on multiple websites. Taking the time to move away from this practice appears overwhelming for many people.
I wrote this post a couple of years back to help with this. If you're struggling with password management, maybe you can schedule time in your calendar, over a weekend or at least over the holidays, to think more about how you want to handle your passwords?
If you are an employer or manage a team, then do set aside time to go through these issues in a controlled setting. Not after the breach happens.

@berkun Hmm, I wonder if a more surprising image would be a good fit, and it would then have to be from a use-case/example in your book. So every time I look at the book I remember that example :)

@berkun Voted. I did not let it affect my vote, but Iād reflect on how a fixed perspective of the globe as a symbol works in print. The globe is always centered on one part of the world, with the risk of the rest of the world feeling left out. All the designs are fantastic though.

Working on a talk where Iāll be calling out the exploitation and neglect of vulnerable people in a big way and I can almost hear myself shouting on stage. It will be an eruption of internalized frustrations...

@jasonmesut @chrisnoessel @jmspool Here's where I think Jared would point out that most design is poor design. :)
And why the job of design leaders is to help others in producing better designs.
I understand the intent, but "optimization" doesn't acknowledge all the crap produced...? š©

This was an interesting take on āI do not want more tipsā in a banking app.
In order to access the tips if I turn them off, the only way is to uninstall and reinstall the app. I only learn of this constraint by clicking the āquestion markā-icon.

@JesperBylund From my understanding you can loan a Kindle book to another person only a single time for a period of 14 days if the publisher has allowed it? Apple Books of course wonāt allow lending at all.

There should be a name for the practice of leaving 1-star reviews of apps because you are disappointed by the limits imposed on a free account.
I'm embarassed to disclose how many times I've failed in the last hour to download and set up a habit tracker, because something on Twitter "caught my eye". š
