@darianrosebrook @_anith Yes, there is definitely a fluctuation; also due to fake accounts following many people and then being regularly purged by Twitter. So definitely a question of correlation not being equal to causation.

@_anith @darianrosebrook Agree. And what also worries me is that people are keeping such a close eye on how each tweet affects number of followers up and down... Can't be healthy. Makes me think that follower count should be an average, and only updated once every few days or something like that.
Ever more often I wonder if we understand what we've built and are partaking in… x.com/IEthics/status…

@darianrosebrook Huh, why did they delete that... maybe a typo. They tweeted the same one again: x.com/iethics/status…
@darianrosebrook I made a new identical tweet to replace the one at the top of this thread :) x.com/axbom/status/1…
Today I'm looking for clarity on the context in which @Apple requested @Telegram take down protestor channels in Belarus. Apple have reportedly denied the actions as described by Telegram, but something rotten is certainly going on.
I'll keep this thread updated. >>
The story as it played out started with reports like these:
iphoneincanada.ca/news/apple-tel…
ht @jenswedin
And then reports of Apple claiming not to have requested channels be taken down, only specific messages. Which can of course be sufficiently problematic.

@ErikBernskiold "Kapat" känns i sammanhanget rimligare.

@baekdal Gah... one more concern to add to my list... thanks.

Thinking there should be a study on how this impacts accessibility. So many people with temporary and permanent cognitive variations will struggle with a forced non-linear timeline. Please engage in addressing this @TwitterA11y x.com/chrisdancy/sta…

@marciplan Good question. I tend to be of the mind that I can consume free content on the web in the manner that makes sense to me, as long as I don't sell that content to others or pass it off as my own. How do you reason?
@marciplan Apparently the way this works is that there is a DMCA procedure for reporting content that one would want taken down from ListenBox. Not sure about the tech solution but you're right that it likely violates YouTube terms. listenbox.app/dmca
Pro tip: Sometimes I have to research a person and listen to their talks posted on YouTube. What I do now is make a playlist with all their talks and then use ListenBox to make a podcast feed out of that playlist, and listen in my podcast client.

@eurydice13 I’m thinking fake accounts are possible and most people make public posts. If other social media platforms are getting more difficult for some to misbehave/abuse on, then this one maybe is easier to break into. 😬
