When @ibogost in 2017 took a crack at pointing out the UX Emperor's new clothes it is nothing short of brilliant. I of course love and appreciate his nod my way - being blunt about the weaknesses in my "reframing" of UX from 2016.

For a more comical and light-hearted ending to this poem, which may play better with your audience, may I suggest changing the last line to:
"On Dancer, On Dasher, yo Holmes to Bel-Air!"
Laughing is healing too.

My company Christmas donation this year will go to three organizations. First out is @FreetheSlaves who are fighting to end the slavery that is still so very real today. They have been fighting for freedom since 2000.

I first came across @FreetheSlaves when doing research for my article The Slavery Supported by that Device in Your Pocket:

The second organization I have chosen is Giving People. They work in Sweden with ongoing support for children in poverty and vulnerable families, a phenomenon and problem too rarely talked about in Sweden but which of course has grown during the pandemic.

@rachelcoldicutt "I definitely felt pain and disappointment going through a moment like that," he says.
Always blown away by CEOs who frame themselves as if they have no accountability, responsibility or power to intervene.

@tashwillcocks Haha, I know that feeling. 😅

@tashwillcocks Wow, that is a great story, thanks for sharing!

@kolombiken Not really. I was never a huge user of GoodReads either.
No, I do not have to and do not want to review every customer service interaction, every order and subscription. We are humans moving through life and we do not need a point out of 5 for every smile, nod and touch.
Chances are your points are making everything worse, not better.
You forgot to ask, but I give your points system one star out of five.
✭✩ ✩ ✩ ✩
The likeliness that I would recommend your points system to a friend is 0, on any scale.

Law is about control. Ethics is about care. Unlawful is not necessarily unethical. Perhaps more importantly: Lawful is not necessarily ethical.

@loficodes That’s actually very helpful! I’m pushing a bit beyond my current knowledge with this one but that’s what makes it fun. :)

@paulrandall You mean I have to LEARN something…! 😅
Thanks, checking that out now.
So if I have a Javascript snow effect, how might I contain it (mask it) in a circle to have the snow effect inside a snow globe? ❄️

One person’s preference for a “pretty” design can never take precedence over another person’s ability to access the content. A person thinking it’s ugly is not the same type of problem as another person not able to read it.
