My best advice for Elon Musk would be a therapist AND a coach. There seem to be a lot of issues to work out. Not least the issue of hurting other people. theguardian.com/technology/201…

Yes this is an ego post for an ego boost, but also a reminder of how some of the work we do and write online has repercussions we need to be made aware of to sometimes muster that energy to keep going.
Three and a half years ago I took the time to respond to an e-mail from a student in a country far away. This person asked questions about getting into working with UX Design. I wrote some notes back and set aside time to finish a blog post with this person in mind. Just before summer this same person wrote back to just let me know they had now completed a BSc in Interaction Design, and finished their letter like this:
"I am not sure if I have anything specific to ask, but it felt good to give a status report. I realized I don't know much about you as a person, just a little as a designer, but that was enough to be inspirational. I never had a Jony Ive, but I had Don Norman, Naoto Fukasawa and a Per Axbom to think about when in need of motivation.
Thank you for replying and finishing that blog post, I didn't truly realize how much it meant to me for a long time. Thanks for doing what you do, please never stop."
It's because of letters like these that I never want to stop. ❤️

Note to self: Write post about the myth of the edge-case.
All IKEAs in Europe now serve vegan hot dogs. 🙏🙌🌭

Very psyched to be giving a 3-week ethics course at the UX-designer programme at @Nackademin trade school in January/February.
So much good will come of it! 😀😍

If the essence of my job is helping others, and I'm worried about automation, am I worried about more people being helped?
No, of course not, I'm worried about losing my own meaning. So I guess that's really what we should be talking about, how to find meaning.
Yes, one can obviously be worried about the automated process doing a poorer job of helping people than you as a human can... but that's not what I'm adressing here.
CEA trying out damage control, saying they misinformed @PressSec. But even with these off-base explanations, what president's term begins in November?!
I must stop trying to understand all this lying though. x.com/WhiteHouseCEA4…
Reported and blocked. It's all I can do right now to maintain some sort of sanity. Additional suggestions welcome.

Dear diary, today the president of the USA has called a recently fired woman a "crazed, crying lowlife" and "dog". 😢
Snart skolstart. Jag hopppas återigen att fler lärare och rektorer som drivit och driver strikta kepsförbud i skolan är öppna för att lära sig mer om sensorisk överbelastning.

Swedish pole vault record is also counted as the USA record since Armand ”Mondo” Duplantis also has an American citizenship. Weird rule!

@UXFika Interesting article but a bit misleading that it uses @indiyoung's version of a mental model diagram as the hero image - which to me is something quite different.
