Yes this is an ego post for an ego boost, but also a reminder of how some of the work we do and write online has repercussions we need to be made aware of to sometimes muster that energy to keep going.

Three and a half years ago I took the time to respond to an e-mail from a student in a country far away. This person asked questions about getting into working with UX Design. I wrote some notes back and set aside time to finish a blog post with this person in mind. Just before summer this same person wrote back to just let me know they had now completed a BSc in Interaction Design, and finished their letter like this:

"I am not sure if I have anything specific to ask, but it felt good to give a status report. I realized I don't know much about you as a person, just a little as a designer, but that was enough to be inspirational. I never had a Jony Ive, but I had Don Norman, Naoto Fukasawa and a Per Axbom to think about when in need of motivation.

Thank you for replying and finishing that blog post, I didn't truly realize how much it meant to me for a long time. Thanks for doing what you do, please never stop."

It's because of letters like these that I never want to stop. ❤️
