Coming out of 2 intense weeks teaching ethics in design, I’ve now got so many insights and stories to add to my workshop and keynote at @WIAD_Zuerich! Looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces there. 😍🐼

@BekahHW I feel there are some dangerous assumptions going on here.
1) Introverts are not necessarily shy or ”too scared”.
2) Introverts do not necessarily want to be ”invited in”.
3) There are no universal signs for behavior.
Here’s a good starter: hellogiggles.com/lifestyle/intr…
@BekahHW I say ”dangerous assumptions” because when you assume you know how someone feels, or what they want, that can lead you to act in a way that makes them feel even more uncomfortable. I interpret this tweet as telling others what a person feels and wants in this context.
@BekahHW As I read other responses to this tweet I see that other people have expressed similar concerns with the ”universal sign” aspect of the message. I’m confident the intent is benevolent but I see many ways this can be misinterpreted.

@sonniesedge I totally agree. For a while there I thought we had good thing going when more and more people recognized introversion. But now it seems often used as a synonym for being shy.
Also, I really want to challenge the notion of there being universal signs for behavior...
I am an introvert but not shy. I often want just this, to stand alone and replenish energy on my own terms. If someone asked me to join their group I would feel obligated to do so, even if I did not want to. I enjoy people but I replenish energy alone.
Do not assume shyness. x.com/BekahHW/status…

"Make an agreement with your children about how to reach their digital friends in case anything should happen to them. Otherwise, they may have friends who will go around wondering forever what happened."

@emanuelkarlsten Riktigt bra Emanuel. Tack!
The first UX Designers to complete a 2-week course on ethics in design as part of their 2-year program. Do I look proud? 😀
#designethics @Nackademin

On the wall behind us is my graphic recording of the entire course that we used to summarize our learnings.
Not sure about this picture 😂 but teaching this course has been a highlight of my career.
(Edit: I’m actually liking this picture more and more each day.)
What my classroom looks like after today's activities in my "Ethics in Design" course at Nackademin. Last day tomorrow after 2 weeks of teaching. Wow, I'll miss this.

For the curious: this is part of a 2-year "UX designer" program at a trade school called @Nackademin
Awesome workshop today with Jane Ruffino. Such a great way to tie together our knowledge of historical artefacts with the ethical implications of the digital artefacts we are creating. Our knowledge of people mistreated in the past can tell us a lot about how our decisions today will be judged by others in the future.

@bolstad @emanuelkarlsten Hehe, precis.

If you love anagrams, these phrases contain clues to their own solution.

Remember the "WTF should i maked for dinner?" website? I seem to remember the script for generating that website was released under public domain or creative commons. I just can't find it, my google fu is failing me. Anyone in the know?
