@pappasadrian I believe they do have an impact in creating awareness. Awareness for me is one of the most important things right now, as it's necessary for consumer action and behavior change.

I think we may have to start calling them blood batteries.

@flowchainsensei Without immediate data to back me up I'd argue that the proportional interest to scratch an itch (spikes of joy) is higher :)
And that we are interested in quality but we are not well-trained in recognizing it, and the noise works against us. Scratching the itch is easier.

@flowchainsensei This is how you know clicks are not an indicator of quality or value.

Twitter have been experimenting with prompting people to read articles before they tweet them. Turns out that a little friction, and encouragement to reflect and reason, has significant effects. Part of my course curriculum ✌️
I"d still love a return to the old manual retweet. x.com/XComms/status/…

Here's my quickly curated @gaslitnation listening guide in response to @jessicamalonso's question, if you only have time for 2-5 episodes. Thought I'd share it with you all. x.com/axbom/status/1…
I've mentioned before how I avoid the colossal US products and try to support small tech. We also often have awesome European alternatives to most of the behemoths. In this post, however, I focus on outlining why I avoid using the hugely popular video conferencing tool Zoom. There's rarely time for me to provide this overview in conversation.

@BrizaPie @beantin How likely are you to recommend this rhubarb patch to a friend?
Stunning autumn morning today. I did a run over to @beantin (we live on opposite sides of Stockholm) to pick up a gift of a monster of a rhubarb root. Hoping to get close to his rhubarb yield in the next few years.

Funny thing is my head is now so filled with Charley and Ewan’s voices that during my ride this morning my mind was going “This is beautiful!” “This is amazing!” “Absolutely stunning!” and hearing their voices 😂. x.com/axbom/status/1…
And thus it begins. To be continued...

@MabandeOpenBeta Shit vad upprörd jag blev nu. Får kanalisera det här till något konstruktivt...

@MabandeOpenBeta Gah. Det här med att bli ledsen och söka sympati själv när man har maktpositionen och kan välja att lyssna... det börjar bli rejält tröttsamt...

@jessicamalonso This is hard, because it really is an experience of learning more and more as they go along. But, challenge accepted :) I'd start with 'Oligarchy Won the Cold War’: The Timothy Snyder Interview. In it they circle back to a lot of previous teachings.

@jessicamalonso And then jump into So Many Cults, So Little Time. I think a lot of these latest episodes are kind of shocking if you haven't listened for more than a year, but with only a short list it's hopefully like tearing off a bandaid. A big one. gaslitnationpod.com/episodes-trans…
@jessicamalonso There is two-parter from last year that you may want to give a listen as well: The GOP Is an Unregistered Foreign Agent: Part I and Part II. This also brings in their revelations from even earlier episodes.
gaslitnationpod.com/episodes-trans…
@jessicamalonso And then of course the more recent episodes are more specifically on the election. And they get angrier... and rightfully so, because so few people would take them seriously through this...
Critical Rage Theory.

I have to say, listening to @gaslitnation prepared me mentally for what is happening in the US and will happen in terms of stealing the election. Without Andrea and Sarah, I'd likely still be in denial and disbelief. Can't imagine waking up to it from one day to the next.
They are also the only two people I know of who have been right about everything. For years.
