Almost 1 hour with the #win8 HP tablet now, Still haven't been able to connect it to my WiFi network since the button disappeared.

@o_k my problem now is that I turned WiFi off and can't switch it on again. Need a manual.
Wanted to reset WiFi, there's an on/off switch. I swiped to off. The entire button disappeared. Now I can't turn it back on. #win8
*sob* Windows 8 on the HP tablet makes me feel like an old geezer who has lost his keys, and his glasses… and his mind.

@peppelorum That's where I tried but couldn't find it. Found it now, went back to Start, went to desktop view and clicked statusbar icon.
