@vitterhet For me that would remove the whole point of riding... 😬
A weird fear I have is the idea that self-driving cars will lead to prohibiting motorcycle-riding. Riding my motorcycle is my meditation...
Makes me aware of how the benefit of self-driving cars is always expressed in terms of getting from A to B and there is very little talk of supporting the act of just exploring without a defined goal. A lot of innovation is focused on removing serendipity.
Thus began my quest to support everyone in finding their inner serendipitist.
You might even say this happened somewhat serendipitiously.
"These stops often include addresses on both sides of a street—or highway. Rather than directing drivers to make a U-turn and deliver packages on one side of the street and then the other, the app instructs drivers to cross the street on foot." x.com/LaurenKGurley/…

@beantin I mean, if it can also send invoices I'd buy it. :)
Want to feel confident you are talking to who they say they are? Hang up and call them back. As a podcaster, there certainly is a wealth of voice data to just download and source for deepfake phone calls...

Amazon's extensive white paper on privacy and security for the Sidewalk network should give you an idea of how invasive the network potentially is. By keeping Sidewalk active you are betting on Amazon having pre-emptively thought of everything that can go wrong.

1) I make a lot of bad decisions. Sometimes those decisions can hurt others. When I teach ethics I encourage students to be more aware of why they make bad decisions in order for them to become better at spotting, and mitigating, risky circumstances.
I use the acronym HURTS.
2) H is for Health
When we neglect our own health, often through lack of sleep or unfavorable diets, our own fatigue can risk the safety of others. Sometimes we have no personal control over health issues but can make ourselves aware of fluctuations in clearheadedness.
3) U is for Understanding
When we make decisions without making an effort to understand all aspects of a problem space, we are less likely to make informed decisions and risk rushing into more problems. It's hard to know everything but easy to know too little.
4) R is for Resilience
Our ability to make favorable decisions even when we are being pressured to do otherwise can mitigate harmful acts. But resilience is impaired by power imbalance and we may need friends and allies to support and stand us by.
5) T is for Time
When not given enough time to complete a task we take shortcuts, miss important cues and clues, and make fewer efforts to stop or course-correct when we are astray. Reflection and reasoning are often neglected when time is the top priority.
6) S is for Self-awareness
If we haven't spent time getting to know our own values and how we can work to promote those values there is less of a chance we will recognise if we make choices contrary to our belief systems. Boosting self-awareness can let us be more of ourselves.
7) It's always good to spend time at work (and elsewhere) discussing how these factors play into decision-making and how everyone is supported in being better decision-makers. Consideration and reflection is always worthwhile. Especially when it HURTS.
A person measuring their own worth in numbers can get creative in boosting numbers.
A person with freedom to pursue a clear goal can get creative in pursuing that goal.
A person who cares for another being can spend time helping regardless of numbers, goals or creativity.
Which is more common?
Massive humanitarian crisis happening in the Democratic Republic of the Congo right now. Half a million people have had to flee a volcanic eruption.

@markusandrezak I have never liked Slack. I think this summed it up perfectly.

@EverydayExpPod @beantin It's published fortnightly, so always on a Friday two weeks between. Same schedule all year. Predictability is important to listeners I believe.
It's early morning Swedish time which means it will actually be late Thursday in the US when it comes out. But it's always the same.
Here is @hampelusken being absolutely brilliant in explaining how to make #accessibility matter in your organisation.
