The fact that Mailchimp are now systematically deleting content and removing pages that address the benefits of double opt-in... WTF!? x.com/axbom/status/9…

Mailchimp have now removed this entire web page about the benefits of double opt-in. x.com/d0pp13r/status…

@dracos @d0pp13r @MailChimp Surreal... ”These are not the droids you are looking for.” I’ll update the blog post.

Trust @steveportigal to highlight an incorrect punctuation mark in my article. Thanks, though 😀
So yes, #Mailchimp provide #GDPR info for customers. This is a screenshot from that document.

Page 7 is where you will want to start reading about consent.
For the curious-minded I have now decided to opt for a self-hosted solution for newsletters, called Sendy: per.ax/sendy
The migration of my newsletter over to a self-hosted @getSendy platform is now complete. axbom.com/newsletter/
On my new e-mail platform I have 346 spam emails subscribed in a month. Without double opt-in those would count as regular subscribers in a pay-per-number-of subscribers platform.

OMFG! @MailChimp already removed their own text on Double Opt-In Benefits from this knowledgebase article! x.com/axbom/status/9…
The double standards, lack of clarification and forced change is going to be costing @mailchimp in reputation and trust. Is the 💰 worth it? x.com/kurtinc/status…

@d0pp13r @MailChimp Naturally, but why not make that my choice as a list owner instead of theirs?
@d0pp13r @MailChimp Here is their own info on benefits of double opt-in. They are now automatically removing these benefits. kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-f…

@d0pp13r @MailChimp Let’s keep an eye on this page and see if it changes soon. #misusability
@d0pp13r @MailChimp I wonder how @mailchimp could possibly benefit from this 🤔 😂

↪ Replying to @d0pp13r
@d0pp13r @MailChimp Biggest concern in this event is the choice to move all existing lists automatically to single opt-in. Why is that not a choice?
