"Want to hear the event news first? Hit LIKE on our Facebook page."

Nope nope nope. That's a good way for me to NOT get the news first. Offering me an alternative path to information is becoming more and more important peeps.

Especially for events, it is highly likely that I am interested in updated information during a limited time, 3-4 months (before and some time after the event). If you can provide a newsletter that only operates during this period I would rejoice.

I wouldn't mind seeing events experiment with push notifications on the days of the event. Apps like Pushed are well suited for this, where users can accept notifications for a specific event (instead of having to activate them for an entire app). pushed.co

@flyosity I love Ikigai but I would argue that ”What you can be paid for” is a western addition that has no roots in the original concept. Ikigai can be taking care of one’s children or any of your hobbies. It is what makes you feel alive, not what brings you an income.

@flyosity ”Finding the answers and a balance between these four areas could be a route to ikigai for Westerners looking for a quick interpretation of this philosophy. But in Japan, ikigai is a slower process and often has nothing to do with work or income.” weforum.org/agenda/2017/08…
