@davegray Yes, the theory is though that a person goes through about 4-8 of these cycles in a lifetime. I've been cocooning for years now =)

Northern Finland. What appears to be smoke from a forest fire is visible in the top left of the picture. Pretty much sums up summer 2018 in Scandinavia.
But yeah, the scene could use some further commentary... x.com/severeweatherE…
If one believes that one person can make a huge difference (top of mind: Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Helen Keller, Malala, Lilian Gilbreth), is it a stretch to believe one country can make a difference by leading the climate change agenda?
A decision-making process that [encourages] [innovation leaders] to check their instinctive technological optimism against the realities of human life.

Is the comparison in this article fair? It's impossible to say for sure. The important takeaway for me is the issue of what we should expect from the people building our future, and their responsibility when it comes to impact on people and planet. Then we can discuss options.
Alrightey. If I have one day at the Fringe, how does one even stand a chance of choosing amongst everything going on? Is there a viable strategy?

Aware of this dilemma, the shows are adding "A"'s to their show names in order to appear as close to the top as possible in listings 😂

I wanted to fact check a story from Kenya and ended up on one of Wikipedia’s most horrifying pages. It’s a list of youngest (known) birth mothers across the world. I’m not going to link to it, as someone may inadvertently click, but it distresses me that I can consider myself >
relatively aware of systemic oppression, injustice and abuse, and still regularly keep getting these shocking insights. Always be learning but never assume you know.

I share posts on Facebook and sometimes the original poster is part of the share, sometimes not. I honestly don’t see a pattern (except for a picture share). I’ve used Facebook for 10 years and don’t understand how it works!

@janeruffino Whoa. I found two Swedish articles. In both cases they have checked with professors fluent in Swahili who are certain they are not speaking Swahili. What a nightmare.

@janeruffino Like Sweden’s age tests to determine if kids can stay or will be forced out.

@janeruffino True, I was pondering as well how this actually may make some people more determined to run further down the path of negative impact 😕

@janeruffino ’Tis the longing for infinite data points for manipulation that leads many people astray. I’m infinitely happy about the evidence that it’s not possible.
@janeruffino I actually hate how self-conscious about having my arms crossed in meetings, afraid that others have read some dubious article claiming that I am being hostile.
