Do you worry about being attracted to new products when you have no prior recollection of ever coveting what they claim to offer?
So LinkedIn posts do not have publishing dates (looking at the iPad app)? Isn’t that the singular, most basic metadata there is?

"Thomas, aged 70, lives on his own after his wife died last year. His children send him smart devices to track and monitor his diet, health and sleep from a distance. But Thomas has always been fiercely independent, happy to live in an organised mess."

Learning about the cyber security concept of threat hunting, i.e. not waiting for threats to appear but to proactively hunt them down before they reach your systems.
Thinking that this is what #designethics needs as well: harm hunting. Let's not wait for people to complain.
And what we don't want is people thinking "This makes me feel bad but it's probably just me..." or "I don't know how to let people know how bad I feel about this..."
Recognize that many people won't complain as they won't feel empowered or entitled to let their voice be heard.
Which highlights the very important point that we must as designers also empower people to be able to speak up when they are negatively impacted by design solutions.
And then truly listen to that feedback.
There are many building blocks in pursuing an ethical approach to design. Here is my current collection of components, each of which I will elaborate on in future writing.
