One excuse people give for not making videos accessible is speed. "We need to get it out there quickly."
Is this a myth, or can you specify when your content really needs to be ready for some people before it's ready for others?

Started thinking about all the stressed people working like crazy to put together an advent calendar for their business in time for December. One of those situations where effort likely surpasses any value received or given 🎅.
I’ll just leave this here: givewell.org

@beantin @MastodonProject I like this idea. Just not sure I have the skills to do it. I don’t have a lot of Ubuntu experience. With your help though... :)
Deadpool liked my tweet and I don't know what to do with myself now... 😬

To get an idea of how I feel about Deadpool, this is one of our @UXPodcast promo photos...

@carriehd Thank you for the effort to ping me on the answers. Fun to have interacted with you today! Listened to your voice extensively last Thursday as we recorded our intro/outro for our podcast show with you, finally out on Friday! :)

@carriehd Agree! I also sometimes have slidedecks that allow me to adjust my timing with the audience being none the wiser.

@snowracer 👍 Och du skulle varit mycket välkommen. Skulle planerat bättre men det är som vanligt en kortvisit.
Hello #Jönköping my old college town. ❤️
Just arrived.

The hotel room slightly bigger than the last dorm room I stayed in... 👍

Found beer (Innis & Gunn) and peanuts at Bishops Arms. I will be ok.

My hotel workstation setup.

Sidenote: look at all those ports on my MBP! And yes it has an SD card reader!
Hotel hack. In many hotels you don't actually need the room key to turn on the lights. Your business card may work just as well in the slot.

Had a truly heart-warming day in Jönköping at the Masters program in Information Architecture and Innovation. Thank you for having me @resmini The students are so much fun to interact with.

@carriehd This is what I use to contact my kids when they're gaming! Hadn't thought of more use-cases! 😂
@carriehd Thanks!

@carriehd Thanks! My focus is on trying to find something that is as inclusive, and safe, as is possible online.
Suppose I want to manage public groups where participants can be from all over (you don't know them beforehand). Further criteria: Not Slack/Facebook/LinkedIn. Preferably an option for application and approval process.
What is there?
When you hustle to a meeting to show your dedication, even though you're travelling later and maybe should have skipped it, and it was cancelled via e-mail 30 mins prior to when it was supposed to start.

@janeruffino No, the "we" was referring to us white men. I couldn't possibly begin to understand the obstacles you encounter, but I do appreciate having you in my network, showing me how my reality is misconstrued and how some of my actions and behavior contribute to the status quo or worse.
↪ Replying to @janeruffino
@janeruffino True, and if we want to see ourselves as allies in this shift we need to better understand what we are doing wrong and what we are (maybe) doing right. Calling on myself, as a person who takes up a lot of bandwidth, to find better ways of passing the mic.
