Readworthy content in latest issue of @thecontinent_ on how Facebook is being used to exacerbate harm in the ongoing civil war in Ethiopia.

It's the first African publication to obtain access to the thousands of documents leaked by Frances Haugen.

There is a lot of content on Ethiopia in this issue, but also an African perspective on climate crisis activism. I highly recommend subscribing to @thecontinent_ for weekly, well-written insights from the world's second largest continent.

@olssonm Väldigt ledsamt. För några år sedan upptäckte jag liknande med en person jag aldrig träffat (vision/mål kopierat till deras sajt). Jag mejlade och frågade vad de höll på med och de pudlade och bad om ursäkt och plockade bort inom en timme. Men vansinnigt tråkigt att det pågår.

@olssonm Kan också vara värt att påminna förövaren om att det kan vara direkt skadligt för dig, då sökmotorer och andra algoritmer ju flaggar dubblerat innehåll och båda parter blir lidande av försämrad synlighet.

If you know anything about the history of Oompa Loompas in Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, these types of "humoristic" alert messages come across as ignorant and narrow-minded.

This is from @revue but they are not alone in "Oompa-jokes".

@ichianna Hehe, that’s exactly the thought I wanted to spark. 😊 I actually do believe VR can do wonders for rehab purposes. Sadly, I see it going the other way for prisons because unlimited virtual space means potential savings in physical space.

.@thecontinent_ Your quiz question number six reads "Only two people from Africa have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize while they were president. Who are they?"

But there are three: Anwar al-Sadat, FW de Klerk and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Looking at the answers you provide, it would appear you missed Africa's first democratically elected female president (serving 2006-2018), who was awarded the prize in 2011.

I do hope you fix the answer sheet and issue a correction in the next issue. @thecontinent_
