@rkaj I was trying to do exactly that yesterday and it didn’t get it to work in all browsers, and then I just decided against it in the moment to make it consistent across browsers. I don’t think I’ve fully decided yet one way or the other but I kind of like the friction that this imposes, because it lets people think more on what is actually going on.
@rkaj I may have missed it but are you not using the youtube-nocookie domain? I know it’s only partially useful but are you just not bothering with it on purpose perhaps?

@jackeric That’s what I do, but I also see the problem in hybrid work meetings in conference rooms. Definitely something I also recommend, but alas not everyone has multiple monitors.

@glennf Definitely. And this was discussed prior to my operation so I knew I would sooner or later be getting one of these devices. My operation was in August of last year (about 2 months after my 50th birthday). I’ve truly been so thankful for Sweden’s healthcare system.

@glennf That is absolutely correct. My blood coagulation level needs to be within a certain range to reduce risks of blood clots. I actually like talking about this, as I know there's always someone out there with similar or adjacent experiences who can benefit.

Den ger en hel del insyn i vem det är som kan gynnas ekonomiskt om förslaget skulle röstas fram. En nyckelspelare som Ylva Johansson haft mycket kontakt med innan och efter förslaget lades fram, och som varit en framträdande lobbyist för Chat Control 2.0, är en organisation som heter Thorn.
Thorn är grundat av Demi Moore och Ashton Kutcher med syftet att bekämpa sexuella övergrepp mot barn. I EU:s öppenhetsregister står de omnämnda som välgörenhetsorganisation. Men organisationen är även vinstdrivande, i sin roll som säljare av en programvara som fått namnet Safer. Det råkar vara en sådan programvara som skulle behövas för att realisera Chat Control 2.0.
*Ashton Kutcher är för övrigt inte en del av Thorns styrelse längre. Han fick lämna i september 2023 när det uppdagades att han vädjat till domaren om att lindra straffet för sin tidigare skådiskollega från That ‘70s Show, Danny Masterson, som dömdes för två fall av våldtäkt tidigare samma månad.*
'Följ pengarna' är ofta ett gott råd när någon envist vilseleder och hävdar fördelar med ett förslag trots att en stor samlad expertis pekar på tydliga och lättbegripliga argument som visar varför det inte är möjligt eller varför det skulle vara direkt skadligt.
