@callenet I do understand how it's appealing. But that path frightens me. Where something like RFID chips makes more sense to me. Not the implanted ones! ;)

@tinsaynes Har du appen FirstVet? Har hjälpt mig flera gånger. Hoppas förstås det bara var något tillfälligt.

@radicallyrach I woke up, read this tweet, bought the book and have read 20% of it now. Thank you!

@beantin As I'm reading @shoshanazuboff's Surveillance Capitalism right now I'm distraught about how I've been complicit in the making of current structures. It's also a really good history of the web, for us geeks who can remember many of the events. Highly recommended.
@beantin @shoshanazuboff As I said in another tweet, just getting the vocabulary to talk about these things, which the book provides, is important to communicating any change we want to happen.

@beantin I believe if more people understood the risks, even if they don't suffer but other at-risk people do, more people would care - but obviously not everyone. A lot of the problem with tech is that so much happens without understanding. On many sides. We need to slow down. 😬
↪ Replying to @beantin
@beantin Exactly. Why we have to keep calling it out. Won't be much left of society to parttake in if one wants to refuse these practices. 😥

@jennytheolin @Berghs You can't care enough for the people you are designing for, and for everyone else impacted by, reliant on and set aside by your creations. Thrive by taking care of yourself first. Remember who you are. Write it down. Don't forget. Forgive yourself. Ask for help. Embrace the ride.

@dagensindustri OBS! Man måste säga upp 7 dagar innan provperioden går ut.

@Augmentedrobot @JesperBylund @whitneyhess Excellent point!

@JesperBylund @whitneyhess Agree with your premise. What I liked about this sign was that it was (to me) expressed as encouragement rather than rule. But I agree with the danger.
↪ Replying to @JesperBylund
@JesperBylund @whitneyhess Interesting outlook as always 😊. Wouldn't you agree that if a sign such as this can encourage pause and help de-escalate then its net impact is positive? But to further your thoughts, would it be easier to approve of if it had been signed by the hospital staff?

@hockew In my talks I sometimes give an example of how one app congratulated me on my weight loss when the smart scale registered my son's weight as mine. 25kg down in 8 weeks. It shouldn't have congratuled, it should have expressed concern.

@markhurst @lizjosullivan @shoshanazuboff Oh I'm not condoning their practices in any way, but not perjury. I think asking that question allows for this answer and they look better than they should.
↪ Replying to @markhurst
@markhurst @lizjosullivan @shoshanazuboff As far as I've gotten in the book she has talked about the previous practices and how surprised people were to learn this was going on. But maybe there is more. I'm reading it now :)
